HydraShield™ is an innovative additive system designed to deliver superior, long lasting water repellence across a wide range of polymer applications. This ground breaking technology uses a hybrid Nano architecture that combines surface modified Nano-Silica with a functionalized polymeric hydrophobe network.The proprietary formulation creates a low-surface energy, Nano structured coating within the polymer matrix.This unique structure dramatically reduces water adhesion and improves surface slip.
The Nano-Silica phase provides a roughened Nano topography, while the polymeric hydrophobe network imparts an ultra low surface energy. This powerful combination results in contact angles exceeding 150°, causing water to bead up and roll off surfaces This dual action system ensures that the material maintains its exceptional hydrophobic properties, even under the high shear processing conditions of industrial manufacturing.
